A few weeks later on 1st July 2024, Peer Productions (one of the project partners) hosted the next in-person day with the team of academics, and we were also joined by a group of young neurodivergent and learning-disabled actors who are working as Peer Practitioners, as well as Nina Lemon (artistic director of Peer Productions and consultant on the project). These young people are all training on the PAD or the PEP programme at Peer Productions. One of the PAD actors led a warm-up for everyone. I then introduced the actors to the work, and the platform that it’s being hosted on, while they academic team continued to develop their ideas. After lunch, we put people into teams to explore the ideas we had come up with. I worked with Roanna on our movement ideas with Annabel and Joe. It was so exciting to see our ideas come to life and figure out how we could translate our ideas into practice, knowing that this would have to be done in a way that was translate online and not in-person. The young actors responded really well, and it was great that they gave us ideas and responses that we hadn’t thought of. We all came back together as a team and shared our discoveries. It was really wonderful to co-collaborate with these young people and it gave the research team a lot to consider in developing the work.
