About

A developmental psychologist currently working at the University of Surrey in Guildford, within the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. Particular interests in:
• Early play in autism (ecological approach – looking at what objects afford autistic children, relating to other people through objects; role unusual child-object relations in autism might play in disrupting ongoing interaction)
• How autistic children and adolescents make sense of themselves in the school context and how this changes over time (taking a developmental approach), as well as how the perceptions of typical children impact on this.
• Integrating first and third person perspectives to provide a better understanding of autism, rather than foregrounding the third person perspective.
