Dr Hannah Newman

Post-Doctoral Research Assistant (University of Surrey)

About

I recently gained an interdisciplinary doctorate that investigated how drama environments can aid the understanding and diagnosis of autism from the University of Kent (2018). As well as working on the project, I am an assistant lecturer at the University of Kent teaching modules on devised and physical theatre. I also am a co-director and performer with Foxtale Ensemble. I have previously worked as a research assistant on projects that combine the arts and sciences, including Comedy on the Spectrum (British Academy and Leverhulme funded) and with Liquid Vibrations (ACE funded). My research interests include the combination of drama and the sciences in performance, research projects and training, with a focus on autism.
